MENTOR & TRAINER SAM SR
Sam Sr was born in Fort Hood, Texas, but spent the majority of his childhood in Detroit Michigan and traveling abroad in a military family which ended in Fort Bragg, NC where he decided to enter the U.S. Army.
From 1991 to 2001 he served honorably in the US Army receiving many awards, merits and citations. While serving his country, Sam received numerous training qualifications, medals and awards to include the Master Fitness Certification & Meritorious Service Medal. During his military career he always enjoyed working with the youth and learning new things. What stood out most was his passion for physical training and mentoring. With this knowledge he was able to train, mentor and assist many of his fellow soldiers and young adults with their fitness and training goals. While in the military he gained a passion for assisting the youth in local and international communities and formed the Non-Profit Top Rank Mentoring, Inc. With this 501 c3 program he was able to partner with local teachers, coaches and administrators in the triangle area and provide the understanding of the importance of life goals, fitness and NCAA college preparation. Sam has dedicated over 20+ years to the development and mentoring of young adults and their impact on society.
Sam Sr has mentored a countless number of high school standouts from many states, Division I, II, III colleges as well as athletes at the professional level as well as their parents. Sam has an in dept knowledge of requirements for athletes in numerous sports and positions to excel both in and out of their sport.
Sam Sr and his wife, Derema currently have 1 son, Sam Jr, a local Raleigh Standout who attended North Carolina A&T on a football scholarship. While winning 3 HBCU National Championships and 4 Conference Titles Sam Jr was also on the deans list every semester. They reside in Raleigh, NC.
